NBA Summer League: Peterson vs Boozer
Two prominent rookies from June’s NBA Draft showcased their skills in a thrilling Summer League game on Monday night. Darryn Peterson, the second overall pick, led the Utah Jazz against Cameron Boozer, the third pick, representing the Memphis Grizzlies.
Peterson’s Impressive Performance
Peterson excelled in his second Summer League appearance, scoring 25 points by converting 8 of 15 field goals. This included three successful 3-pointers and three free throws. The former Kansas Jayhawks star also contributed 12 assists, alongside two rebounds and two steals, propelling the Jazz to a 109-100 victory.
“Always, I try to find something about everybody I play against,” Peterson said. “He was the pick after me, so I know he probably had an agenda today as well. I couldn’t let the ride.”
Boozer’s Solid Contribution
In spite of the loss, Boozer delivered a noteworthy performance with 18 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal. His four 3-pointers and an impressive shooting accuracy of 66.7% highlighted his efforts. Boozer’s teammate, Cedric Coward, with 23 points, topped the scoring for the Grizzlies.
