A mysterious stranger is celebrated as a hero after rescuing a sleeping Las Vegas family from a predawn house fire. He also helped fight the flames before disappearing without leaving his name. The family is now eager to locate him to express their gratitude.

Heroic Act During House Fire

The fire erupted shortly before 5 a.m. on July 5 at a residence in the Las Vegas Valley. Home surveillance video, shared with Fox News Digital, displays flames enveloping the backyard as the fire expanded.

Homeowner Danna Shabtai recounted the experience to Fox News Digital. She had advised local children to cease fireworks near her home on the prior night. By 4:51 a.m., someone was frantically alerting her household by ringing the doorbell and pounding on the door.

My dog started barking, so I woke up and I stumbled to the door, Shabtai stated, adding the stranger shouted, Fire! Fire!

She immediately noticed the backyard ablaze with orange flames. Realizing the severity, Shabtai’s sister grabbed the garden hose to combat the fire while Shabtai sought to alert neighbors by banging on their windows and doors.

Neighbors Aided by Acts of Valor

Video captured the mysterious figure who informed the family of the fire. While the stranger attempted to extinguish the flames, two women joined Shabtai in awakening nearby residents, ensuring their safe evacuation.

The unidentified man sourced a hose from a neighbor’s home, integrating efforts with Shabtai’s sister to restrain the flames. Shabtai credited him, believing his actions avoided a more disastrous outcome.

If he wasn’t driving by at that time, I don’t know. It would have been a lot worse, she noted.

Search for the Stranger

The family resorted to social media to locate this selfless individual, keen to offer personal thanks.

Speaking to Fox 5 Las Vegas, Shabtai stated, You’re an angel. You saved our lives, and I’m really thankful for everything that you did.

Additionally, she supported her sentiment through social platforms addressing the hero directly.

You saved probably two households and a bunch of pets, she remarked, grateful for the timely rescue.

Potential Fireworks Connection

Shabtai suspected the origin of the fire linked to fireworks. Despite her earlier requests for nearby children to desist, she recalls seeing embers landing on neighboring structures. She conveyed her dissatisfaction with the cause on Facebook, advocating for professional handling of fireworks in future celebrations.

While her family remained at home post-tragedy, others were less fortunate. In a video update, Shabtai noted some neighbors faced displacement.

Efforts to obtain more details from the North Las Vegas Fire Department regarding the fire’s cause remain unresolved. Meanwhile, Shabtai continues to recognize the unnamed passerby’s life-saving intervention amid the incident.
