Russell Wilson Retires: Ciara’s Emotional Tribute and Future Plans

Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson has announced his retirement, and his wife, Ciara, reacted emotionally to the news. Married for nearly a decade, Ciara shared her reflections on their personal journey.

“The best in the world! There’s only one, 3,” Ciara wrote in response to Wilson’s announcement. Her pride and love shone through as she expressed gratitude for their shared experiences.

“Always so proud of you! It’s a true blessing to go on this journey with you! My greatest inspiration! I love you so much!”

Wilson’s retirement comes on the heels of a new role. He is finalizing a deal to join CBS Sports as an analyst for ‘The NFL Today’. In his retirement video, he expressed excitement for this new chapter and acknowledged those who’ve supported him.

“As I enter this next chapter with CBS Sports and ‘The NFL Today,’ I’m so blessed to continue doing what I love most – being around the greatest game in the world,”

Wilson’s career began when he was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Over ten seasons with Seattle, he helped lead his team to a Super Bowl victory against the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Following his time with the Seahawks, Wilson joined the Denver Broncos. After two seasons, he moved to the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants, finalizing his career there. Through 14 seasons and 205 games, he accumulated a career record of 121-80-1, completed 64.6% of his passes, and threw for 46,966 yards with 353 touchdowns.

As Wilson moves on from his athletic career to broadcasting, his family, including Ciara, remains central to his story.
