Presley Gerber’s Tragic Death at 27

Presley Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, has passed away at the age of 27. This news was confirmed by Cindy’s representative to Fox News Digital, who shared a statement from the family requesting privacy during this difficult time.

According to online records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Presley died on Sunday at a rehabilitation facility. An autopsy is pending, as reported by TMZ.

Family Background and Mental Health Struggles

Presley was the only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, and he had a younger sister, Kaia Gerber, who is also a model and actress. Presley had openly discussed his mental health challenges on social media and in various interviews. In a Vogue cover story published in August 2026, Kaia Gerber spoke about her brother’s mental health issues and drug use.

Vogue detailed Presley’s journey as a “decade-long struggle with drug addiction.” Kaia shared her perspective, stating that such experiences in a family can bring everyone to a new level of understanding.

“My parents for most of our lives were very private,” Kaia told Vogue. “And now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’”

She noted the difficulty of hiding from the world and how it can lead to shame, commending Presley for his openness.

Struggles and Advocacy

In December 2025, Presley posted and later deleted an Instagram video discussing his experience with medications like Xanax, Valium, and buprenorphine, according to People magazine. He mentioned his recent losses as a factor influencing his current state.

“Unfortunately, I’ve had a lot of loss in many different forms recently, so that is the reason why I am where I’m at now,” Presley said.

He expressed his hope to connect with others who face similar issues, reaching out for support.

In February 2023, Presley appeared on the Studio 22 podcast, sharing insights about his mental health and depression. He aimed to help others who were going through difficult times.

Despite his struggles, Presley’s career included modeling achievements. He signed with IMG Models at age 15 and participated in runway shows for renowned designers like Moschino, Calvin Klein, Celine, Dolce & Gabbana, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Presley’s death is part of a wider narrative involving mental health and addiction challenges, highlighting the need for ongoing support and understanding.
