Ongoing Search and Investigation for Missing Woman Nancy Guthrie

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has stated they have yet to be contacted by Mexican authorities regarding reports of a possible grave linked to Nancy Guthrie. The news came after an anonymous tip suggested the location of a grave matching Guthrie’s description near Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.

Ramona Guadalupe Ayala Ortiz, who leads Buscando Corazones Nogales in Sonora, confirmed receiving a tip about the grave’s existence. The group focuses on finding missing individuals in Mexico. The report mentions a body, potentially Guthrie’s, in the Mariposa area, as reported by 12 News.

Pima County’s Response:

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos addressed the situation publicly. He stated that their department is aware of the tip reports but has not received any communication from Mexican authorities. He assured that their investigation remains active and ongoing in pursuit of credible leads.

Nancy Guthrie’s Case:

Guthrie disappeared from her Tucson, Arizona home in early February 2026. Authorities suspect she was abducted, although there is no clear evidence of her being taken across the border. A doorbell camera captured a masked man, wearing gloves, at the front steps around the time of her disappearance. Footage also showed a person approaching the home weeks earlier.

The scene at Guthrie’s home raised questions about potential accomplices. Her back door was propped open when officials arrived, suggesting more than one person’s involvement. Alleged ransom notes were sent to media outlets, but there have been no arrests connected to the investigation.
