The match on Centre Court extended for nearly three-and-a-half hours. ESPN noted it as Djokovic’s longest Wimbledon match since his 2023 final against Carlos Alcaraz. Alcaraz has proved a formidable opponent for Djokovic in the past. However, Alcaraz is absent this year due to a wrist injury.

Janik Sinner is another contender who has challenged Djokovic. Sinner is a strong presence in this year’s tournament. Currently, he is favored by many to succeed, with ongoing matches against Shintaro Mochizuki. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Djokovic has a chance of securing another title, which could tie him with Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon titles.

Djokovic’s endurance will be tested as he faces Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime next. Auger-Aliassime is the No. 3 seed and ranks fourth in ATP standings. Their match is scheduled for Tuesday, July 7.
