Peterson voiced his opinion in favor of Murray, citing his experience. Murray earned the Offensive Rookie of the Year title and was a two-time Pro Bowler over seven seasons with Arizona.
“I believe the Vikings have immense potential,” Peterson commented. “Their defense has performed remarkably over the past two years. Seeing Kyler Murray joining, I thought, ‘That’s a strong move.’ His departure from Arizona was expected, although the reasons remain unclear,” he explained. “Kyler possesses exceptional talent, great agility as a quarterback, and an impressive arm. He can extend plays and fits well with the talent in Minnesota.”
“He could be a transformative player for them,” remarked Peterson.

Peterson noted that awarding the job to McCarthy would be surprising. McCarthy is still seen as a developing player with significant room for growth.
“McCarthy has the potential to excel, yet some of his decision-making needs improvement,” Peterson cautioned. “Watching the Vikings last year, there were moments of frustration. With McCarthy’s ongoing development and Murray’s seasoned expertise, a dynamic competition is likely, benefiting the team as they push each other.”

Murray’s challenging exit from Arizona might serve as a driving force, aiding his performance in Minnesota.
