Country music star Megan Moroney had to cut short her Denver concert on Tuesday night after falling too ill to continue. She later shared with fans that it was a very difficult decision to make.
Moroney managed to perform only three songs at Ball Arena before halting the concert. She returned to the stage to personally explain the situation to her audience, appearing emotional as she apologized.
“I am obviously extremely sick, and I thought I did everything to make myself better, and obviously, two songs in, I just can’t play this show tonight,” she told the crowd, visibly fighting back tears.
Despite ending the performance early, she assured those in attendance that she intended to provide the show they deserved at a later date. Fans responded with support, and one audience member shouted encouragement as the singer left the stage.
Ball Arena confirmed that the show was canceled due to Moroney feeling unwell. They issued a statement directing attendees to the nearest exits and promised to provide additional information as soon as possible.
Moroney expressed her apologies on Instagram, revealing that continuing would have compromised her performance standards. She stated:
“That was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make & I’m so sorry to cancel the show tonight.”
The artist informed her followers that the concert has been rescheduled for August 27. Tickets bought for the canceled show will be valid for the new date, and those unable to attend can get refunds through their original purchase point.
Moroney’s challenging decision was met with widespread support online, with fans urging her to focus on her recovery. After all, her music career has been on an upward trajectory following her breakthrough hit “Tennessee Orange.”
After her college years at the University of Georgia, Moroney moved to Nashville to focus on a full-time career in music. Her success with “Tennessee Orange” led to several albums, including “Lucky,” “Am I Okay?” and “Cloud 9,” and recognition as the country’s top new female artist.
