Authorities in Louisiana are on the lookout for Kaegan Jude Solet, 47, after a series of stabbings left four people dead and one child critically injured in Houma’s Ashland Drive area. The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office has named Solet as a person of interest.
Initial Discovery
Deputies were called to the 200 block of Ashland Drive, where they found a severely injured child. The child was airlifted to a hospital and remains in critical but stable condition, according to Lt. Blake Tabor of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office. Four adults were later discovered dead in nearby homes, but their identities and connections to each other, the child, or Solet have not been disclosed.
Investigative Efforts
While Solet has not been charged in connection with these recent events, authorities are using all available resources to locate him. Tabor mentioned that they do not have evidence suggesting he plans to leave the area or evade capture. The search continues for Solet, who had not been located as of the latest update.
Previous Crimes and Legal Questions
This is not the first time Solet has been involved in violent crime allegations. In December 2019, he allegedly stabbed a woman multiple times in a motel and left her severely injured. Solet was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder following a confrontation that turned violent.
In January 2019, there was another warrant for Solet’s arrest related to the killing of Kemple Paul Scott Lovell. However, details of the outcomes of these cases remain unclear.
Concerns About His Release
The community is questioning why Solet is not currently in custody, given his history. Authorities are investigating how previous cases were managed. Lt. Tabor expressed surprise over Solet’s release, noting the need for answers regarding the judicial handling of past incidents.
Continuing Investigation
As the investigation progresses, detectives are gathering evidence and hope to provide further updates. The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information on Solet’s whereabouts to reach out at 985-876-2500. More details will be shared as the case develops.
