Lonzo Ball, known for his journey through various highs and lows in the NBA, recently expressed a strong opinion about Jalen Brunson’s skills. Ball, who last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, stated on social media that Brunson is ‘the best Knick to do it…like ever.’
Ball’s remarks followed Brunson’s impressive performance in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, where he scored 30 points to lead the New York Knicks to a 105-95 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Brunson’s standout play has been pivotal to the Knicks’ success, marking their first NBA Finals appearance in over twenty years.

Ball and Brunson previously competed against each other on Christmas Day at Madison Square Garden. During that game, Brunson led the Knicks to a close win against the Cavaliers, while Ball contributed from the bench.

Since joining New York, Brunson has earned a reputation for being a clutch performer and is a vital part of the Knicks’ quest for their first title in more than fifty years.
Despite his current prominence, Brunson plays for a franchise rich with history and legendary players, including Willis Reed, Patrick Ewing, Walt Frazier, and Charles Oakley. If Brunson leads the Knicks to a championship victory, he may solidify his standing among these greats.

In Game 1, Brunson faced a brief injury scare but returned to play. Toward the game’s end, he had a visible reaction to some courtside fans during teammate OG Anunoby’s free throw attempts. The NBA is investigating the related incident.
The NBA Finals move to San Antonio for Game 2, scheduled for Friday night, with subsequent games set to return to New York.
