Las Vegas Aces Triumph Over Toronto Tempo

Vancouver, Canada – August 23, 2026: The Las Vegas Aces secured an 88-78 victory against the Toronto Tempo at Rogers Arena. A’ja Wilson was instrumental in the win, contributing 27 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.

The Toronto Tempo, holding an 11-26 record, played their second game at Rogers Arena, following a close 82-79 win over Portland that ended their 12-game losing streak. The match attracted 15,877 spectators.

Jackie Young supported the Aces’ efforts by adding 21 points. The team’s win places them just half a game behind the second-place Golden State in the WNBA standings, with a 26-13 record.

For Toronto, Kia Nurse took the lead with 19 points, while Kiki Rice and Temi Fagbenle added 14 and 13 points, respectively. In the second quarter, NaLyssa Smith’s layup gave the Aces a 10-point lead. However, Toronto responded with a 6-0 run, closing the first half 43-39.

Injuries affected the Tempo’s lineup with All-Star Marina Mabrey, Brittney Sykes, Nyara Sabally, Maria Conde, and Aneesah Morrow absent. The team confirmed that Sykes and Morrow, injured in the previous game against Portland, are out for the season. Coach Sandy Brondello mentioned Mabrey will be reassessed in the coming weeks.
