Kelani Jordan, a prominent WWE NXT star, continues to enhance her impressive pro wrestling resume. Four years after joining the company and reporting to the Performance Center, Jordan has achieved significant milestones. She became the first NXT Women’s North American Champion and secured the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) Knockouts Championship. Recently, at Heatwave, she clinched the NXT Women’s Championship by defeating Kendal Grey.
Achievements and Accolades
In a recent interview with OutKick Dropkick, Jordan reflected on her accomplishments. She expressed that these accolades remind her of her talents and strengths, especially during challenging times. “It’s a good reminder,” she stated. “I was the first ever North American champion and a TNA Knockouts champion. Now, I’m the NXT women’s champion. It’s a clear indication that my abilities are genuine and my past titles were well-earned.”
Over the year, Jordan has earned respect from fans and her peers in the women’s locker room. In May, she boldly claimed she was superior to the women promoted to Raw and SmackDown post-WrestleMania 42. With the championship belt now in her possession, she has the credentials to back her claims.
The Champion’s Burden
When asked if she has gained the respect of her peers, Jordan confidently responded, “Yes, absolutely.” She acknowledges the pressure that comes with being a champion. “Of course, there’s a target on my back, especially now,” she remarked. “But the title also brings a level of respect because it’s proof of your work.”
Upcoming Title Defense
Jaida Parker has stepped up to challenge Jordan. Parker, fresh off a victory in a submission match against Nattie at Heatwave, is a worthy competitor. “I’m not surprised Jaida Parker emerged as my challenger. We’ve faced off before, and she feels she has something to prove,” Jordan said. Confident in her abilities, Jordan added, “I’m ready for Jaida’s games and her tactics. I’m great at talking, and I back it up in the ring.”
Jordan and Parker are set to face off for the NXT Women’s Championship this Tuesday on the CW Network.
