Judge Adam Levy’s New Courtroom Show Premieres

Judge Adam Levy is set to premiere his new courtroom show “Adam’s Law” this month. He credits his preparation to learning from his mother, Judge Judy Sheindlin, whose popular show “Judge Judy” ran for over 25 years. Levy, who has also appeared in shows like “Justice on Trial” and “Tribunal Justice,” previously served as the Putnam County District Attorney in New York for two terms. “Adam’s Law” will see him adjudicating as the sole judge, with the debut taking place on CBS Media Ventures.

“We dive into the details,” Levy explained during a taping at Stamford Studios. He emphasized the importance of examining facts beyond what litigants claim, sometimes researching backgrounds to verify or refute their statements. “The right person wins, the right person loses,” he stated, noting that this thorough approach ensures fairness.

During the show, emotions often surface, as seen when two women shared tear-filled testimonies during Levy’s cases. Despite understanding the human aspect, Levy remains focused on facts. “The law is about facts,” he said. “These are real cases, with real people, and they feel strongly about their cause. Whether the case involves high-dollar values or small amounts, they all seek justice.”

Levy is aware of his role’s responsibility and takes it seriously, knowing litigants waive their small claims court rights for his judgment. “Why would I give them anything less than my full attention and true justice?” he asked.

His readiness for his own show came when Judge Judy encouraged him, saying he was ready. Levy joked about wanting to avoid disappointing her. He described his courtroom style as similar to his mother’s, with an intolerance for dishonesty and a focus on truth-seeking.

Reflecting on his upbringing, Levy didn’t always appreciate his mother’s demanding schedule, but now admires her work ethic, which he wishes to pass on to his children. Despite the intense preparation for his show, he finds fulfillment in loving his work. “Adam’s Law,” created by Judge Judy Sheindlin and produced by Queen Bee Productions, has premiered in national syndication.
