Republicans have rallied behind Vice President JD Vance, solidifying his status as the leading candidate for the 2028 presidential race. At the Republican National Convention in Dallas, Vance confronted a protester waving flags from the Palestinian Authority and Mexico during his primetime address.
Without skipping a beat, Vance addressed the interruption: If you love Mexico so much, get your a– over there. I’ll buy you the plane ticket,
prompting the audience to applaud energetically.
Conservative voices reacted strongly on social media. Eric Daugherty described the scene as deafening
and total pandemonium.
The moment was further amplified by crowd chants of U-S-A!
Political commentators praised Vance’s quick response. Benny Johnson referred to it as an epic response,
while Scott Pressler labeled it an iconic moment.
Overton, a conservative news account, commented on Vance’s Trump-level move,
stating that his retort threw the convention into absolute bedlam.
Ryan Fournier, co-founder of Students for Trump, noted the crowd’s enthusiastic reaction, describing the energy as unbelievable.
Andrew Kolvet of Turning Point USA commended Vance for expressing sentiments felt by many Americans.
Following the interruption, Vance adjusted his speech. Ladies and gentlemen, I had a whole speech written, but I think I’ve got to change it because we just discovered the symbol of the far left—an idiot waving… a Mexican flag,
he remarked.
He emphasized America’s enduring ideals. As much as that person might wave around a foreign flag, he’d much rather live in Dallas… or in any one of our great cities than Mexico,
Vance stated. He reminded the audience that America’s foundational promise requires constant vigilance and effort.
Vance criticized the Democratic Party’s agenda, asserting that they focus on control and division. This fall, the Democrats are running candidates who will tell your children what they’re allowed to say… because that’s what the Democrat Party is about in 2026. It’s not about you; it’s about foreign fraudsters… And we got to send their a—-s back in November,
Vance concluded.
Discussions are ongoing about the potential successors to Trump for the 2028 election. Currently, JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are considered leading contenders among Republicans.
