His recent cease-and-desist letter to his former school, LSU, has sparked widespread attention. Daniels aimed to stop LSU from using his name, image, and likeness. This has been mocked by various online communities, including the New York Mets.

The Mets, following their 4-1 victory over the Washington Nationals, took to social media to join the chorus of jesters. In a playful jab related to Daniels, they referenced their game, stating they ‘stopped at 4 out of respect for Jayden Daniels.’

Daniels, a Heisman Trophy winner with LSU in 2023, reportedly expressed dissatisfaction that DJ Pickett was allowed to wear his No. 5 jersey. This situation was seen as ‘disrespectful’ by Daniels and his team. He addressed the issue on social media, emphasizing his focus on training camp and expressing gratitude for his time at LSU.

I have been locked in on training camp and that’s been my number one focus. I have a lot of gratitude for my time at LSU and I’m proud of what my teammates and I accomplished there. Obviously there are issues to be worked out between my team and LSU and my hope is that it will get done privately, Daniels stated.

While Daniels tries to calm the situation, he continues to face criticism online. The ticketing platform StubHub humorously announced they would no longer sell tickets in groups of five, referencing Daniels’ famous jersey number.

As the regular season approaches, Daniels hopes to shift the focus back to his performance on the field rather than the ongoing online blitz.
