Jana Kramer on Life After Heartbreak and New Film ‘Where the Heart Lands’

Jana Kramer believes in finding joy after heartbreak. The actress and singer revealed to Fox News Digital that exiting ‘toxic’ relationships helped her become ‘a better person’ and appreciate second chances both in her personal life and career. This perspective reflects the themes in her new Lifetime film, ‘Where the Heart Lands.’

Kramer, known for her public journey through heartbreak, divorce, and rebuilding, shared that leaving unhealthy situations transformed her into ‘a better person.’ Her new movie mirrors these themes. She expressed, ‘Getting out of something really negative and bad helped me become a happier and lighter person.’

The 42-year-old star often hears from others facing divorce and significant life changes. Her advice is clear — embrace fresh starts. She stated, ‘Starting over can be incredibly scary but also one of the best things ever.’ Although Kramer doesn’t wish divorce on anyone, she acknowledges the beauty and love that can follow.

Behind-the-scenes glimpses of ‘Where the Heart Lands’ show Kramer working in a horse barn. Her openness about her relationship struggles highlights the emotional toll of staying in harmful situations. ‘Holding on to the negative and toxic relationships drains you and causes you to lose yourself,’ she emphasized.

Kramer shares two children with ex-husband Mike Caussin. Their 2021 divorce followed allegations of infidelity on Caussin’s part. After moving on, Kramer married Allan Russell, a former professional soccer player, and they share a son named Roman. Now raising three children, she values the life created after leaving unhealthy relationships.

In ‘Where the Heart Lands,’ Kramer portrays Charlie, a horse trainer. She related deeply to her character’s challenges in maintaining her reputation and opportunities. The film stars Tyler Johnson as her co-star and follows the unexpected romance that blossoms in rural Kentucky after gaining an inheritance of racehorses.

Filming in Kentucky’s horse country was rewarding for Kramer, whose daughter has recently begun horseback riding lessons. She appreciated working closely with racehorses and found the experience both educational and inspiring. Kramer noted, ‘Being around horses is freeing, and these animals are powerful and intelligent.’

The film ‘Where the Heart Lands’ also stars John Schneider, Charlene Tilton, Alex Barone, and Jessica Szohr. It is directed, co-written, and produced by Haylie Duff and is available for streaming on Lifetime.
