On Monday night, while deputies were investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in Northeast Miami-Dade, an unexpected incident occurred. A vehicle approached the deputies at the scene, containing a man who had been shot just over a mile away.

The shooting victim had been injured at Zippy Coin Laundry, located at 14701 NE Sixth Ave. Shortly after being discovered, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the man to HCA Aventura Hospital. He is currently in critical condition.
