Illegal Migrants Arrested for Violent Crimes in the U.S.

Virginia Hiking Trail Stabbing

Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos, an illegal migrant, has been arrested for the fatal stabbing of Carmen Lizet Puch in Great Falls, Virginia. The incident took place on a hiking trail, leaving the local community in shock. Former Secret Service agent Charles Marino has criticized the Biden administration for previously releasing the suspect and has called for accountability in such cases.

Attack on Off-Duty NYPD Detective

Federal officials have reported that two Dominican citizens, Dangelo Rafael Jean Caraballo and Sneider Mejia Bautista, are wanted for the attempted murder of an off-duty NYPD detective, Jose Mercedes. Mercedes was attacked during a robbery attempt while unloading his car. Despite multiple stab wounds, he managed to chase the attackers for a short distance before collapsing.

Details of the Assault

The detective was hospitalized but has since been released. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) criticized New York’s policies and called for cooperation from local authorities to apprehend the suspects.

History of the Suspects

DHS revealed both men entered the U.S. illegally at the Arizona border and were released by the Biden administration. Caraballo’s criminal history includes reckless driving and weapon charges. Bautista faces similar charges, including grand larceny and weapon possession. Local authorities have previously released them without notifying Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Calls for Action

Secretary Markwayne Mullin of DHS emphasized the need for local cooperation to remove these criminals from the streets. He expressed frustration over New York City’s sanctuary policies, which have hindered ICE’s efforts to detain such individuals.
