Former Disney Star Raquel Lee Bolleau’s Allegations Against Disney

A former Disney Channel actress, Raquel Lee Bolleau, has brought forth serious allegations regarding her experiences on set. In her lawsuit, Bolleau claims that at 14 years old, she faced sexual abuse from an adult male employee during the production of the 2001 Disney Channel film “The Poof Point.” She alleges that Disney personnel encouraged her to “bond” with this employee, which led to these incidents.

According to documents accessed by Fox News Digital, the alleged abuse involved the employee providing alcohol to Bolleau and sexually assaulting her throughout the filming process. She recounted a particularly troubling remark from the accused employee, “You’re old enough. You can handle it,” following the abuse.

Bolleau claimed she returned to set smelling of alcohol, visibly ill, and changed after the incident. Disney staff, she said, failed to investigate how a young actress had access to alcohol or seek medical assistance for her.

Instead, the lawsuit claims an executive labeled her “out of control,” criticized the movie’s production as “haywire,” and expressed Disney’s disappointment to her representatives. Another accusation involves a Disney executive producer on set allegedly stating Bolleau needed “Jesus” and telling her mother she had a “demon” inside.

Bolleau claims that during filming, Disney frequently separated her from her guardian, ignoring state regulations that require a guardian of performers under 16 to be in close proximity. She contends this lack of supervision allowed the accused employee unrestricted access to her. Furthermore, this employee’s alleged misconduct extended to touching and harassment in the presence of others, with comments such as “last night was so good” being audible to sound technicians, yet reportedly unchallenged.

The lawsuit maintains that Disney not only ignored these warning signs but also covered up the alleged abuse while blaming Bolleau for her behavior changes. Her lawyers accuse Disney of systemic failure, stating, “Disney’s egregious role in Mr. Doe’s abuse of Ms. Bolleau is part of a broader, institutional, and systemic pattern of institutional and individual failures at Disney.”

Additionally, Bolleau describes further abuse during a flight returning to California, where she was seated with the employee while her guardian was placed in a different section. The alleged assault continued until deboarding the aircraft at Los Angeles International Airport.

Her legal action against Disney specifically points to the company’s failure to safeguard her from sexual abuse, alleging disregard for child-actor safety protocols. Bolleau seeks both compensatory and punitive damages as well as attorneys’ fees.

Doug Wigdor and Jane Kim, representing Bolleau, highlighted the larger issue within the entertainment industry, stating, “This conduct is inexcusable, and those involved must be held accountable.”

Bolleau began her acting career as a child, debuting on “Malcolm & Eddie” before her role on Nickelodeon’s “The Amanda Show.” She later joined Disney’s “The Poof Point.” Bolleau’s career with Disney also included voicing a character on “The Proud Family” from 2001 to 2005.

The lawsuit also claims that following the alleged incident, Disney canceled her role in a project. Disney has not commented on these allegations.
