Folarin Balogun, a key player for the U.S. men’s soccer team, expressed joy after netting his team’s opening goal in the World Cup match against Bosnia-Herzegovina. This exciting match took place in Santa Clara, California, just outside of San Francisco.

Balogun will be available for the upcoming Round of 16 clash against Belgium on Monday. FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee has decided to suspend Balogun’s one-game ban, which was incurred due to a red card issued during a 2-0 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina. His red card was the result of stepping on the ankle of player Tarik Muharemović.

“The implementation of the match suspension is suspended for a probationary period of one year,” announced FIFA on Sunday. “Should Balogun commit another offense of similar severity within the probation period, the suspension will be reactivated, along with any other penalties related to the new infraction.”

The U.S. Soccer Federation accepted FIFA’s decision, stating, “We are pleased with the Committee’s decision, allowing Balogun to join the squad for tomorrow’s match. Our focus is on the game against Belgium in Seattle, supported by our dedicated fans.”
