Law enforcement officials prevented an attack aimed at the UFC event held at the White House over the past weekend. Court documents released on Tuesday revealed this plan, motivated by dissatisfaction with the country’s direction. The conspirators discussed using drones with explosives and shooting at the panicked crowd.

The FBI intercepted encrypted messages between about 20 participants. They had detailed maps and discussed safe houses and escape routes post-attack. It remains unclear how close they came to executing the plan had it not been interrupted.

The FBI learned of the threat on June 10, four days before the UFC event on the South Lawn. A coordinated operation led to several arrests across states including Ohio, Missouri, and California.

Among the arrested is Tycen Proper, a 19-year-old from Ohio. Proper’s mother had contacted local authorities concerned about his weapon purchases and online interactions. He faces charges including attempted murder of a U.S. officer.

Proper admitted to planning the attack. He and others communicated through a TikTok group called “Vanguard of the Old” since last March. They believed the U.S. needed to be ‘torn down and rebuilt’ and disapproved of people linked with Jeffrey Epstein governing the nation.

Logistics of the attack were shared on Signal, an encrypted messaging app. Proper’s messages suggested targeting lawmakers supporting Israel. He planned to drive to a meeting point in Fredericksburg, Virginia, with weapons and body armor.

The plan included using drones for a north-side White House attack, causing an evacuation into sniper gunfire. Proper characterized the attack as a way to initiate a revolution in the U.S.

President Donald Trump, who was at the UFC event, had not been briefed on the foiled plot.
