Fox News Digital learned about the watch on February 3, while authorities received the note on February 2. This suggests the sender knew specific details before they became public.
“He knew about the watch on the floor — almost nobody did,” stated Jason Pack, a retired FBI negotiator closely involved in the case. He noted the writer’s knowledge of the house, but not of Guthrie herself or confirmation of her well-being.
Pack remarked that the language indicated a native English speaker, using idiomatic expressions and business-like phrasing such as “money in the amount of” and “payment that will need to be paid by” — common in office communication.
