A tragic accident occurred early Sunday in Mundelein, resulting in the death of a local man. The Lake County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that 31-year-old Lukas Beelow, of Mundelein, was fatally injured when his vehicle crashed into a brick structure.

The coroner’s office reported that an autopsy determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma. Mundelein Police received a call at approximately 2:08 a.m. on Sunday. They were alerted to a loud noise near the intersection of Chevy Chase Road and Hawley Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Beelow’s SUV had collided with the brick structure. Tragically, Beelow was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. The incident is currently under investigation by Mundelein Police in conjunction with the Major Crash Assistance Team.
