Fatal Shooting at California High School Graduation

On Wednesday night, a shooting during a high school graduation in Northern California resulted in one fatality and injured three others, according to officials. The incident took place around 7:15 p.m. in the parking lot during Sem Yeto High School’s graduation ceremony, held at Fairfield High School, southwest of Sacramento.

Fairfield Police Department confirmed that one victim died at the scene while the other three were treated at local hospitals. The severity of their injuries remains unknown at this time.

Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District confirmed in a statement to CBS News Sacramento that the shooting occurred after the graduation ceremony concluded.

Mayor Alma Hernandez from Suisun City mentioned in a Facebook post that authorities are actively searching for the shooter.

The police have not yet released a description of the suspect. The exact conditions and ages of the victims are still undetermined. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the shooting. Details regarding the event’s circumstances are under review.

The Solano County Sheriff’s Office is supporting the Fairfield police in their investigation. Sem Yeto High School, a continuation high school, shares its campus with Fairfield High School. The police are encouraging anyone with information about the incident to reach out.
