Fan Struck by Foul Ball at Mariners Game

Fan Incident at T-Mobile Park

Attending a Major League Baseball game requires vigilance. During a recent game at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, fan Jamie Golla experienced a painful reminder of this. She was sitting on the third-base side during the Mariners’ match against the San Diego Padres.

During the game, Sung-mun Song was leading off the fifth inning for the Padres. Golla’s friend was capturing a selfie video when a screaming foul ball hit Golla on the top of her head.

Golla, stunned by the impact, was quickly taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Fortunately, she reported improvement later. “I’m feeling a little better than yesterday,” she told the New York Post. Her head remained swollen, but she appreciated the support she received.

The Mariners staff reached out to Golla later and offered her tickets for a future game. During the incident, the Mariners were defeated by the Padres, 2-0.
