DUBLIN — Democrats are intensifying their criticism of the current administration’s hands-off stance on artificial intelligence regulation as the midterm elections approach.

On Sunday, President Donald Trump attended the Irish Open golf tournament in Doonbeg, Ireland.

While there, Trump responded to demands from prominent artificial intelligence leaders urging a deceleration in AI model development.

The president dismissed these calls, emphasizing that the United States must retain its competitive advantage over China.
