David Lee Roth’s planned summer tour has encountered an unexpected complication with several of his dates being canceled. The cancellations have led fans to speculate about the reasons, as no explanation has been provided. Roth’s July shows in Colorado, Iowa, Kentucky, and Illinois are affected, but his five performances planned for August and September are still available for purchase on Ticketmaster. His Aug. 7 show in Sturgis, South Dakota, also remains listed on his official website.

Sammy Hagar’s Supportive Message

Amid the sudden cancellations, Sammy Hagar reached out publicly to Roth with a heartfelt message. Hagar, who also performed as Van Halen’s frontman, expressed regret over the canceled shows and hoped Roth is not facing any physical issues. He conveyed the sentiment alongside his signature margarita, showing camaraderie and encouragement.

“Hey Dave, Sammy here. I just got a call from Michael Anthony as I’m sitting down having my favorite cocktail…about your tour getting canceled. And I want to say from the bottom of my heart, I’m sorry. I hope you’re well. I hope there’s not a physical problem.”

Hagar highlighted the value of Roth’s contributions to Van Halen and expressed admiration for Roth continuing to promote the band’s legacy.

Open Invitation to Las Vegas Residency

Hagar extended an invitation to Roth to join him and Michael Anthony during their Las Vegas residency scheduled for September.

“Come to Vegas for the residency in September. Come on, join us. Sing a couple songs, MC the damn show. Come out and just do what you do, which is pretty entertaining.”

Closing his video message, Hagar sent well wishes to Roth.

Historical Rivalry

The public support underscores the ongoing dynamics between Roth and Hagar, whose history has been marked by rivalry. Roth left Van Halen in 1985, paving the way for Hagar to step in as the new frontman. Hagar joined Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, and Michael Anthony, remaining with the band until 1996 with a return from 2003 to 2005. Roth reclaimed his position in 2006, staying until Van Halen’s conclusion in 2020.
