Dabo Swinney Criticizes College Football Trends

Dabo Swinney expressed his concerns about the current state of college football during a recent press conference. The Clemson Tigers’ head coach criticized programs like LSU for recruiting former NFL players in preparation for the 2026 season.

Swinney did not hold back in his remarks, specifically targeting Lane Kiffin ahead of Clemson’s upcoming game against LSU.

‘It’s kind of embarrassing,’ Swinney stated. ‘Honestly, it’s embarrassing that’s where we are. I don’t blame the kids, but people trying to take advantage of the system. It’s embarrassing, but we’ve been there for a while.’

Swinney further commented on the approach Clemson will take, emphasizing, ‘No pun intended but we’re just going to stay in our lane.’

ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum, despite rarely agreeing with Swinney, supported his stance on this issue.

‘I don’t think I’ve agreed with Dabo Swinney in ten years on anything. He’s 100% right, and almost everyone in college football agrees with him that does not live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana,’ Finebaum declared during an appearance on ‘Get Up.’

The game between Clemson and LSU is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
