Source of Contamination

The CDC has traced the lettuce to Taylor Farms, a leading producer of fresh vegetables in the United States. Taylor Farms supplies its products to major grocery chains such as Safeway, Whole Foods, Target, and Walmart.

On Friday, Taylor Farms issued a statement clarifying that their branded salads or kits do not contain iceberg lettuce connected to the outbreak. They are voluntarily recalling iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico.

FDA’s Ongoing Investigation

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) highlighted the possibility of other brands and retailers being involved as investigations into cyclosporiasis outbreaks proceed nationwide.
