Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark moved closer to a one-game suspension on Wednesday night, picking up her seventh technical foul this season against the Connecticut Sun.

With the Fever leading 95-67 near the end of the third quarter, a foul call on Olivia Nelson-Ododa sparked a confrontation. Clark and Saniya Rivers exchanged words, with Rivers told to “check the scoreboard” by Clark. Both received technical fouls from the officials.

Connecticut Sun forward Diamond Miller also received a technical foul during the match. “She said she was locking me up, so I said, ‘Scoreboard,’ and the ref didn’t like that,” Clark explained after the game, according to ESPN.

Clark emphasized her commitment to maintaining an aggressive playing style despite facing a suspension risk. “Control your emotions best you can. That intensity makes me who I am, but my team needs me, too. I won’t play with that worry in my mind,” she stated.

Indiana secured a 123-88 victory. Clark scored 27 points and delivered 11 assists, hitting 8-of-13 field goals and five 3-pointers. She is currently tied for fourth in scoring with an average of 21 points per game and ranks second in assists, averaging 7.9 per game.
