The first two games of the National League Division Series between the San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers delivered intense playoff action. Both games were marked by late-inning drama and significant moments from star players.

Game one featured a decisive homer by William Contreras in the 7th inning. Ty France’s attempt to change the outcome in the ninth was thwarted by the roof support system at Milwaukee’s American Family Field. The Brewers narrowly won 3-2, forcing San Diego into a must-win situation in the second match.

Mason Miller hits the paternity list 45 minutes before the Padres’ season is on the line.

San Diego’s closer, Mason Miller, struggled in the ninth inning of Game 2, resulting in three walks. Jackson Chourio’s single secured a walk-off win for Milwaukee, giving them a commanding 2-0 series lead as the scene shifted to San Diego.

Fernando Tatis Jr. was prominently introduced before Game 3. With Michael King pitching against Logan Henderson, the Padres sought a win to stay in the series. Despite Miller’s absence due to the paternity list, Nick Pivetta’s performance and impressive defense by Jackson Merrill helped keep the Padres competitive.

In the third inning, Samad Taylor’s single and run-scoring plays by Tatis Jr. and Merrill pushed San Diego to a 2-0 lead. The Brewers started a comeback, with William Contreras delivering a home run in the fourth inning.

Despite Contreras’ efforts, the Padres maintained an edge as Jake Cronenworth’s solo home run in the fifth restored their lead. A crucial error by Cooper Pratt allowed San Diego to extend the lead to 4-2 in the sixth inning.

The Brewers managed to reduce the lead in the eighth, but Padres’ manager Craig Stammen deployed Michael King to secure the 4-3 victory. This result prevented a Milwaukee sweep and set up a critical Game 4 at Petco Park.
