New details have emerged about a tumultuous day in the life of country singer Bailey Zimmerman at a New Mexico resort. An affidavit outlines a series of events that led to criminal charges against Zimmerman, revealing his activities from golfing to a chaotic soundcheck, resulting in a canceled concert and property damage.
Early Activities
On May 27, Zimmerman arrived at Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque. The day began with a round of golf, followed by Zimmerman and his entourage driving back to the hotel in a white SUV around 3 p.m. Upon reaching the hotel, Zimmerman, his security officer, and four others exited the vehicle, sharing a cigarette. Zimmerman allegedly burned other band members with the cigarette, although they seemed unaffected, according to the affidavit.
Soundcheck Disorder
The group later proceeded to soundcheck at the amphitheater. Surveillance reviewed by police indicated that Zimmerman behaved erratically, allegedly throwing microphones and cymbals and toppling equipment. Attempts by his band to calm him were reportedly ineffective. Zimmerman’s disruptive behavior included shoving a guitarist and storming on and off the stage several times.
Exiting the Amphitheater
Zimmerman left the soundcheck after 44 minutes. The affidavit describes him complaining about the SUV color when leaving the amphitheater. He initially refused to enter the white SUV but eventually complied after tossing a water bottle and spitting towards a security officer.
Return to Hotel
Zimmerman’s return to the hotel was marked by more disorderly conduct. The singer reportedly stumbled out of the SUV, lost a shoe, and had visible blood on one knee. He allegedly staggered through the hotel and struggled to maintain his balance.
Concert Cancellation
Zimmerman later canceled his concert, citing health issues on Instagram, stating, “I have not been feeling well and have tried to power through, but I’m not able to give you all the show you deserve.” He expressed regret over disappointing fans and promised to take care of himself.
Room Damage and Follow-Up
Upon the cancellation, resort staff requested Zimmerman and his entourage leave the premises. They initially resisted relocating but eventually complied with police assistance. Legal Consequences
