This fall, ESPN insider Adam Schefter will rejoin NFL Network’s ‘The Insiders’ weekly, marking a significant return since his initial departure 17 years ago. Schefter, known for his insightful NFL analysis, originally served as a national NFL insider for NFL Network from 2004 to 2009 before transitioning to ESPN.
The network’s flagship evening show, ‘The Insiders,’ was initially co-hosted by Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo. With Pelissero now with The Ringer and Netflix, Schefter is expected to co-host on Wednesdays during the season. The inclusion of Schefter is part of ESPN’s broader strategy to integrate talent across both ESPN and NFL Network platforms.
This strategy follows ESPN’s acquisition of NFL Network, providing the NFL with a 10% equity stake in ESPN. Alongside Schefter, ESPN NFL reporters Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano are anticipated to host the show periodically. Concurrently, NFL Network figures such as Ian Rapoport, Stacey Dales, Cynthia Frelund, Steve Smith, Kyle Brandt, and Gerald McCoy will feature on ESPN programming.
Notably, Molly McGrath and Mina Kimes from ESPN will make appearances on NFL Network, especially during the Sunday pregame show. Adam Schefter recently signed a multi-year contract extension with ESPN, aligning with Ian Rapoport’s long-term commitment to the network.
Both Schefter and Rapoport will play prominent roles leading up to ESPN’s first Super Bowl broadcast in February. Their appearances will include contributions to ‘Get Up,’ ‘SportsCenter,’ and the ‘Pat McAfee Show.’
