A.J. Brown has started integrating with the New England Patriots following trade speculations that moved the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver from the Philadelphia Eagles to Foxborough. Both the team and Brown were eager to form this partnership. Brown’s challenging 2025 season concluded with a Wild Card Round loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He now steps in as the Patriots’ top receiver, with Stefon Diggs having exited after just one season.
The Patriots, last season’s AFC champions, aim to regain Super Bowl success after a defeat to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX. They hope Brown will enhance their young roster and provide the needed push to reclaim championship status.

During a training session at NovaCare Complex in Philadelphia on July 24, 2025, Brown prepared for his new role. One former Patriots player believes Brown is crucial to the team’s aspirations. Rob Gronkowski, a three-time Super Bowl champion, commented to Fox News Digital, “I think he’s the X factor to put the Patriots back into contention of being in the Super Bowl. It’s tough to predict a Super Bowl victory, but he’s vital to making them contenders again.”
Gronkowski emphasized the need for roster upgrades for a Super Bowl return, noting Brown as the necessary enhancement. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, recalling how he utilized Gronkowski, sees similarities in Brown’s playing style. “There’s a force to the way he plays,” said McDaniels, referring to Brown as the closest comparison to Gronkowski he’s witnessed. Brown’s signature skill of securing contested catches makes him a valuable asset for the Patriots, complementing his consistent record as a receiver exceeding 1,000 yards for four straight seasons.
Gronkowski drew parallels between Brown and Randy Moss, citing their positions as great No. 1 wide receivers with shared transitions to the Patriots. Despite differences in their playing style, both players desired to join the team after experiencing less successful years elsewhere. Gronkowski expressed confidence in Brown’s commitment, noting Brown’s long-standing admiration for the Patriots even while with the Eagles.
Brown’s youthfulness and determination to excel make his acquisition a significant gain for the Patriots. “It’s a dream team for him,” Gronkowski remarked. “I really like the move.”
Away from football, Gronkowski highlights the importance of sleep, partnering with Ryde to promote their SLEEP shot. He recognized the value of sleep back in high school, frequently napping before games. This habit continued into his football career, where rest and recovery became essential.
Gronkowski supports Ryde’s SLEEP wellbeing shot, designed to enhance sleep quality. “It just fits my lifestyle,” he said. The shot, incorporating melatonin, GABA, L-theanine, and chamomile, aligns with his goal of maintaining balance and recovery. “I always took naps,” Gronkowski shared, acknowledging the role of adequate sleep in daily performance. “Ryde: SLEEP helps me recover so I can be ready to go the next day.”
