The reality star, Brandi Glanville, has disclosed her concerns about potentially contracting a throat infection described as “sexually transmitted ringworm.” During her appearance on the “Brandi Glanville Unfiltered” podcast, she talked with former adult film star Lisa Ann about her medical worries.
Glanville, known for her role on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” suspected she caught the infection during a relationship with someone from the adult industry. Lisa Ann explained that such infections are quite common on set. She mentioned the importance of training makeup artists to examine new performers for any signs of infection under proper lighting conditions. According to Ann, these infections are easily transmitted.
Ringworm, despite its name, is a fungal infection affecting skin, hair, or nails, and is not caused by an actual worm. Reference information from the Mayo Clinic further describes it as a contagious infection.
“You see them when it’s on the outside of your skin, but they can burrow in like if it’s in your throat; they can burrow deep into your ears and all that,” Glanville shared.
Her suspicions were initially based on a conversation with a friend and inconclusive medical tests. Glanville’s partner’s involvement in wrestling might have been the source of the infection, according to her.
In the past, Glanville suspected she contracted a parasite during a visit to Morocco in 2023, which led to facial paralysis. Initially diagnosed with stress-induced angioedema, Glanville later suspected a parasite might be the cause, as she could feel it moving in her face.
The Mayo Clinic describes angioedema as a reaction similar to hives affecting deeper skin layers. Glanville remained doubtful of this diagnosis and prioritized her health to find the correct answer.
Eventually, she discovered that other medical issues were related to ruptured breast implants that were 20 years old. This revelation came after spending over $70,000 in search for a solution to her ongoing medical mystery.
