Cincinnati Reds All-Star pitcher Andrew Abbott has made an impactful announcement off the field. He proposed to his girlfriend, Lindsay Stone, with a perfect strike on social media. The proposal, captured in an Instagram post against the Cincinnati skyline, was simply captioned “Forever.”
Lindsay Stone is well-known among Cincinnati fans. She has been a TV anchor at WLWT for three years. Prior to working in Cincinnati, Stone covered Notre Dame football at WDNU in South Bend, Indiana. She later moved to WTTV in Indianapolis before joining WLWT.
Stone recently announced on social media her decision to leave WLWT when her contract ends on May 24, but has not disclosed her future plans.
Andrew Abbott, 26, has spent his entire four-year career with the Cincinnati Reds. Last season, he achieved All-Star status with a record of 10-7 and a 2.87 ERA over 166 1/3 innings. This achievement led to Abbott being named the Reds’ Opening Day starter for the current season.
This year, Abbott’s performance has been mixed. Over 11 starts, he has a 4-2 record with a 3.97 ERA, demonstrating challenges with command. He has walked 26 batters while striking out 38. Recent performances show improvement, with a 4-0 record, a 1.29 ERA, and 19 strikeouts in his last five starts.
