FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott recently marked a significant milestone as she rang the Closing Bell at the Nasdaq MarketSite in New York City. This event celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Fox News Channel. The channel, which debuted on October 7, 1996, hosted original personalities like Lauren Green, Trace Gallagher, Steve Doocy, and Brit Hume. FOX News Media President Jay Wallace and other key executives also joined Scott for the anniversary event.
Suzanne Scott expressed her admiration during her speech before the bell ceremony, stating, “It’s a tremendous honor to be here at NASDAQ as we celebrate a remarkable milestone, 30 years of Fox News.”
“Three decades ago, Fox Corporation Chairman Emeritus Rupert Murdoch launched Fox News with an ambitious idea to give audiences another voice in the national conversation. His vision has grown to a multi-platform powerhouse,” Scott continued. “This growth, supported by Lachlan Murdoch, spans digital, streaming, audio, and books.”
Scott emphasized FOX News Media’s strong connection with its audience, stating the platforms reach over 200 million people monthly. She acknowledged the dedicated staff members, including journalists, producers, and technicians, whose hard work contributes to the channel’s success. “Milestones like this honor the people behind our success,” Scott noted.
Reflecting on the channel’s journey, Scott remarked that the viewers have welcomed Fox News into their daily lives. “Today, we celebrate 30 years of reporting and analyzing stories,” Scott said. She added that the future of media is continually evolving with new technologies and platforms.
Scott, who began her tenure at Fox News in 1996 and became CEO in 2018, has played a pivotal role in its leadership. Under her guidance, Fox News has led cable ratings, surpassing even broadcast networks.
“On behalf of everyone at Fox News Media, thank you to our viewers and colleagues who made this possible. We proudly celebrate 30 years,” she concluded in her speech.
The ceremony concluded with Scott surrounded by her colleagues, pausing market transactions for the day as confetti cascaded. The Nasdaq Executive Vice President Jeff Thomas praised the network, calling it “one of the most recognized and influential media brands in the world.” He presented Scott with a Closing Bell crystal.
Scott has consistently driven the brand’s growth across platforms, launching FOX News Books and expanding digital, audio, and business segments. She played a key role in introducing new streaming services such as FOX Nation, FOX News International, and FOX Weather.
