Dallas Wings Clinch Overtime Victory Against Golden State Valkyries in Playoff Thriller

Sep 30, 2026; Arlington, Texas — Arike Ogunbowale delivered a record-breaking performance by scoring 45 points in a WNBA playoff game. This performance included a crucial 3-pointer that sent the game into overtime, leading the Dallas Wings to a 108-100 victory over the Golden State Valkyries. This win forces a decisive Game 3 in the first-round series.

During the overtime period, Ogunbowale’s scoring spree continued. She began by banking in another 3-pointer and later secured the lead for Dallas with a 3-point shot at 103-100, with 1:46 left on the clock. This performance surpassed her previous playoff high of 24 points. Her game-tying corner shot for a 93-93 score happened with only 4.1 seconds left in regulation.

Following that play, Gabby Williams was called for an offensive foul on an inbound pass after a Golden State timeout. This call was overturned upon replay, resulting in a jump ball at center court with three seconds to go, which led to a missed desperation shot by the Valkyries as the buzzer sounded.

The decisive Game 3 is set for Friday night in San Francisco. The Valkyries, in their second season, won the series opener by 24 points and aim for their first playoff advancement.

Despite the excitement, Paige Bueckers, who is making her postseason debut, faced challenges. The 2025 No. 1 overall pick and Rookie of the Year scored 10 points on 3-of-13 shooting.

Williams, with a career-high 36 points, struggled towards the end, missing all six attempts in the last 1:31 of overtime, ending with 12 of 23 from the field. On the other hand, Alysha Clark matched her playoff career high by contributing 21 points to the Wings’ success.
