President Donald Trump is scheduled to deliver a mystery announcement to the nation from the Oval Office on Monday at 2 p.m. ET. The event will be accessible to the White House press pool, according to the president’s official schedule.

On Sunday, in response to a reporter’s question about the nature of the ‘big announcement,’ Trump suggested it might involve his upcoming meeting on Tuesday with Dario Amodei, co-founder of the AI company Anthropic. Trump commented, ‘We’re meeting with Anthropic as you know on Tuesday. That’s going to be significant. We have a couple of unrelated things tonight, and tonight I’m having dinner with the head of Anthropic. These are long days, but I seem to handle them well… No, I’m having dinner with Dario, who is highly respected, from Anthropic.’

Newsweek reached out to the White House press office by email on Monday for a comment, outside of regular office hours.

More details are expected to follow regarding the announcement.
