A Program’s Success in Rural Missouri Schools

In rural Newburg, a small school is witnessing significant advancements through a program gaining traction throughout Missouri. Despite being eligible for retirement after 30 years in education, I have chosen to continue my role as an elementary school principal in Phelps County for the 31st year.

Having dedicated three decades to education, retirement could now provide full benefits. However, the progress and transformation seen within this rural setting have encouraged me to remain actively involved. The initiative that propels these changes is garnering interest and may soon extend its influence statewide. This sense of momentum and the tangible impact on students and the community make this extended journey worthwhile.

Through commitment and strategic implementation, this program focuses on delivering measurable outcomes. The achievements may inspire similar efforts across various regions. The choice to stay is rooted in the ongoing success and potential broader adoption of this impactful educational model in Missouri.
