La Catalina Captures Reina de Reinas Championship at Triplemania 34

La Catalina made her presence known in AAA wrestling with her debut in April, quickly becoming a contender for the Reina de Reinas Championship. Her journey saw a significant milestone when she secured a title shot by winning a gauntlet match, leading to her participation at Triplemania 34. On this eventful Sunday, she ended Flammer’s extended reign by capturing the title.

The showdown took place during Triplemania 34: Night 2, hosted at Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City on September 13, 2026. La Catalina appeared dominant, pushing Flammer to the brink. She attempted a diving splash, which was countered when Flammer raised her knees. Despite this setback, La Catalina regained control. Flammer, momentarily distracted as she searched for her absent tag team partner La Hiedra, left herself vulnerable. La Catalina capitalized with a hip attack followed by a running knee to defeat Flammer.

Flammer’s defeat marked the end of her impressive 1,128-day reign as the Reina de Reinas champion. She held a notable position as one of the longest-reigning champions in pro wrestling history. However, this illustrious reign concluded in Mexico City, during one of AAA’s most prestigious events.

La Catalina’s victory doesn’t afford her much respite, as another challenger is poised to contest her newly gained title. Roxanne Perez secured the top contender position on Night 1 of Triplemania 34. She triumphed over competitors including Nattie, La Hiedra, and Faby Apache, winning the match by pinning La Hiedra. Perez’s victory hints at a disconnect between Flammer and La Hiedra, a dynamic that played out on a significant stage for Lucha Libre.

La Catalina is scheduled to defend her title against Perez at the upcoming Worlds Collide event later this month.
