Satirical Response to Lake Renaming by ‘South Park’ Creators

In a satirical twist, ‘South Park’ co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone poked fun at President Donald Trump’s decision to rename Lake Ontario as ‘Lake America’. Their statement humorously announced that the show’s location would now be called ‘SOUTH AMERICA’, expressing ‘gratitude’ to their parent company, Paramount, which they referred to as ‘a Skydance Capitulation’.

This statement came shortly after the series won an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program for the 27th season premiere in 2025. That episode featured a scene involving Trump in bed with Satan, discussing an alleged cover-up related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump’s renaming decision, executed through an executive order, was part of a broader move amidst trade tensions with Canada. Both Apple Maps and Google Maps complied with the order by updating their maps accordingly. However, users in different countries received varying labels: Americans saw ‘Lake America’, while Canadians continued to see ‘Lake Ontario’. In other regions, both names were displayed.

Previously, similar changes occurred following Trump’s renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the ‘Gulf of America’. This trend has become a running theme in ‘South Park’, as Parker and Stone consistently satirize political developments.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the White House, Apple, Google, and Paramount for their remarks on this issue.
