New York Giants Secure Quarterback Duo for Future Seasons

The New York Giants have committed to quarterback Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston for the upcoming seasons. This strategic move is set to stabilize their quarterback lineup until 2029.

Jaxson Dart’s Role and Contract

Jaxson Dart will continue to lead as the starting quarterback. His journey with the team extends for at least four more years, following his standard rookie contract. Drafted as the 25th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Dart’s agreement ensures his presence on the field through 2029.

Jameis Winston’s Extension

Jameis Winston has agreed to a two-year contract extension, solidifying his role as the primary backup. Last season showcased Winston’s capabilities when he stepped in for two games. He completed 37 out of 66 passes, accumulating 567 yards, along with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

At 32 years old, Winston has achieved notable earnings throughout his career. Originally drafted as the No. 1 pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015, he secured a $25.3 million contract. His subsequent contracts brought him $38.6 million with the New Orleans Saints, $4 million with the Cleveland Browns, and $8 million with the Giants. His recent deal with the Giants is worth a total of $13 million.

Quarterback Strategy and Roster Management

The Giants decided to maintain just two quarterbacks on their active roster. By securing both Dart and Winston, they have strategically locked in their quarterback options for the coming years.
