A Miami steakhouse manager allegedly emerged from his luxury apartment covered in blood, holding a knife, after his mother was found dead from stab wounds. Stefano Eduardo Cremasco-Cicero, 36, claimed self-defense when police arrived following a call for assistance early Friday.
According to Miami-Dade County jail records, Cremasco-Cicero is charged with second-degree murder involving a weapon. He is currently held without bond and under an ICE detainer.
Authorities were alerted around 4:47 a.m. to an unspecified request for police help. At the scene, they found Cremasco-Cicero with blood on his hands, clothes, and shoes. He guided officers to an apartment where his mother lay behind the door with multiple stab wounds. Miami Fire Rescue confirmed her death shortly after arrival.
The woman, visiting from Mexico and staying with her son, remains unidentified publicly. The events unfolded when a food delivery driver reported encountering Cremasco-Cicero in the lobby, where he asked for 911 to be called. Although he initiated the call, he handed the phone to the driver to provide building details to the dispatcher.
Investigators reviewing surveillance footage saw Cremasco-Cicero and his mother return to the building the previous evening. Hours later, the footage reportedly captured him with blood-stained clothes and a knife entering an elevator before returning to the apartment.
His wife, in France at the time, informed detectives that Cremasco-Cicero had been under stress due to restaurant preparations and had a strained relationship with his mother following his parents’ divorce.
The crime scene investigation uncovered several blood-stained kitchen knives, shirts, and broken glass. Cremasco-Cicero is identified as the U.S. operating manager of Miami’s 1986 Steakhouse through an investor visa. Immigration authorities confirmed him as an illegal immigrant, and an ICE detainer has been lodged. His case awaits an immigration judge’s review.
The motive behind the incident is unclear. Fox News reached out to the Miami Police Department and related parties for more information.
