Renowned NFL pass rusher Aaron Donald is set to make his comeback to the league, joining the Los Angeles Rams. He signed a one-year contract valued at $20 million with his former team on Sunday.
Already perceived as leading contenders for the Super Bowl, the Rams’ prospects have improved further with Donald rejoining their ranks.
This new addition brings increased expectations as well. On ESPN’s “First Take” Monday morning, Stephen A. Smith commented that the Rams face a “Super Bowl or bust” scenario.
“The only possible excuse for the Rams not making the Super Bowl is health,” Smith noted. “Injuries, obviously, this is the world of the NFL. That could derail everything. If they’re healthy, there’s no reason the Los Angeles Rams shouldn’t be walking away with the Super Bowl championship.”
Besides Donald, the Rams feature the reigning NFL MVP, Matthew Stafford, and the Defensive Player of the Year, Myles Garrett.
The Los Angeles Rams will begin their regular season with a Week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers on September 10.
