The Arizona Cardinals have secured one of their key offensive linemen for the future. Center Hjalte Froholdt has signed a two-year extension worth $20 million with the team. The deal was finalized on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
Sources: The AZCardinals and C Hjalte Froholdt have agreed to terms on a 2-year, $20M contract extension, keeping him in the fold through the 2028 season.
This information was reported by Ian Rapoport, who highlighted Froholdt’s consistent performance as a critical factor in the extension. Froholdt joined the Cardinals in March 2023 on a two-year deal and has impressed as a reliable presence in the lineup.
Despite the struggles faced by Arizona’s offensive line, which allowed the fifth most sacks in the league last season, Froholdt stood out as a dependable player. His ability to stay healthy over the past three seasons, starting in every game since September 2023, further cemented his value to the franchise.
The Cardinals continue to face challenges with their offensive line. Right tackle Elijah Wilkinson, aged 31, is often not considered top-tier, and guard Isaiah Adams has yet to secure his future with the team beyond this season. However, with Froholdt locked in for an additional three seasons, the team can focus on addressing other areas of concern.
