Richard Russo, a celebrated author, has an impressive resume featuring ten novels, a Pulitzer Prize win, and contributions to screen adaptations and TV series. His latest novel, ‘Under the Falls,’ delves into the community of his youth.
Senior arts correspondent Jeffrey Brown recently engaged with Russo for CANVAS, the arts and culture series. Brown has spent over three decades with the News Hour, fulfilling roles as co-anchor, studio moderator, and field reporter. During his tenure, he has explored a plethora of national and international issues.
Brown’s work has taken him across the United States and around the world. In his role as arts correspondent, he has profiled numerous prominent writers, musicians, actors, and artists. Among Brown’s notable contributions to the News Hour are the multi-year series ‘Culture at Risk,’ which highlighted endangered cultural heritage in the U.S. and abroad, and the launch of ‘Art Beat,’ an online platform. Additionally, he hosts the ‘Now Read This’ monthly book club, a collaboration with The New York Times.
