Michael Alfonso Reacts to James Carville’s Warning to Democrats

Michael Alfonso, a Republican congressional candidate in Wisconsin, appeared on ‘Fox & Friends First’ to discuss the impact of recent primary results on upcoming midterm elections. Alfonso addressed the warning from Democratic strategist James Carville about the influence of far-left progressives, such as Hasan Piker, within the Democratic Party.

Alfonso, the son-in-law of Sean Duffy, former Department of Transportation Secretary, and Rachel Campos-Duffy, Fox News host, secured the Republican nomination for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District. At 26, Alfonso, endorsed by former President Donald Trump, emerged victorious from a competitive field. He aims to reclaim the seat once held by his father-in-law, who served from 2011 to 2019.

Trump praised Alfonso on Truth Social, calling him a ‘MAGA Warrior’ and a young ‘STAR’ for Wisconsin. Alfonso plans to focus on economic growth, tax and regulation reduction, supporting American farmers, and securing the border among other issues. His platform resonates with many voters concerned about inflation and economic challenges.

The 7th District, currently represented by Rep. Tom Tiffany, has been Republican-controlled for 15 years, according to Cook Political Report. Trump won the district with 60% of the vote in the 2024 presidential election. Alfonso will compete against Democrat Fred Clark, a former state assemblyman, who champions a ‘new rural majority’ for northern Wisconsin.

Fred Clark’s campaign emphasizes a coalition of community-focused leaders who transcend traditional left and right-wing politics. Both Alfonso and Clark will engage in a closely watched race for the 7th Congressional District.
