Indiana Fever Triumphs Over New York Liberty

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Kelsey Mitchell delivered a standout performance on August 11, scoring 20 of her 28 points in the first half. Caitlin Clark contributed 22 points and 10 assists, leading the Indiana Fever to a 106-92 victory against the New York Liberty at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Mitchell was dominant, connecting on 11 of her 16 shots. She, along with teammates Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, each hit four 3-pointers. Cunningham added 12 points, and Aliyah Boston contributed 19 points and seven rebounds.

Indiana’s success can be attributed to shooting 59% from the field and an impressive 79% from the 3-point range. This performance included a decisive 64-46 halftime lead. The Fever’s triumph marked their seventh win in nine games, continuing a strong season run.

Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu led the Liberty with 19 points each. Jonquel Jones added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Indiana took control of the game with a 15-7 run late in the second quarter, extending their lead to 54-37.

Despite a New York rally cutting the deficit to 66-57 in the third quarter, Indiana quickly recovered. Mitchell’s key three-point play and Cunningham’s clutch 3-pointer late in the period stretched the lead to 87-67.

The Fever never let the game tighten again, maintaining their strong hold and concluding with a sound victory.
