An Ohio golfer described himself as ‘lucky and blessed’ after he and his friends encountered a storm while golfing last week. During an attempt to record their efforts to move a stalled golf cart, he was struck by lightning.

The video begins with the golfer laughing at his friends as they struggle to push a golf cart up a small incline in the rain. Despite their efforts, the cart rolls backward. Suddenly, lightning strikes, altering the scene dramatically.

The golfer made several errors. He did not leave the course before the storm hit and instead of helping with the cart, he stood under a tree holding an umbrella. This proved to be a dangerous spot. A loud bang follows, and the video abruptly ends with a flash of light.

Meteorologist Matt Devitt reported that the lightning struck the golfer on the arm. Fortunately, he only suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is in recovery.

The incident occurred on a Cincinnati golf course. The golfer expressed how ‘unbelievably lucky’ he felt afterward. Devitt reminded the public of the importance of seeking shelter from storms. Avoid standing under trees or holding umbrellas in such conditions and always assist friends in need.

Contrary to myths, being struck by lightning doesn’t bestow special abilities. Although it might seem like you should gain extraordinary powers, the reality is different. Instead, the golfer simply becomes known as someone who survived a lightning strike.
